Missenden Abbey in Great Missenden is in the Chilterns, between Aylesbury and Amersham, just 30 miles from central London. It is in 10 acres of lanscaped gardens and a lovely place to stay. The original parts are 12th Century and has been owned by Buckinghamshire Council since 1946 for adult education. It was completely restored in the late 1980s after a fire.
