TALKS AND WALKS

Hazel is available for shorter sessions on aspects of Jane Austen's life and novels - anything between an hour and day-long bookings - and for guided visits to Bath, Sidmouth, Lyme Regis, Chawton, Alton, Winchester and other Hampshire locations. She will travel from the Exeter area, for the cost of diesel and a reasonable fee.

Talks can be tailored to suit your requirements, either in the daytime or in an evening. Hazel has her own laptop, projector and screen so all that remains to be found will be the venue. In the Exeter area, Hazel knows of a suitable venue if it is required.

Walks: in Bath take about 4 hours (plus a break for lunch), those in Sidmouth & Lyme about 1½ hours each. Please contact Hazel to discuss how the arrangements can be tailored to suit your group.

You can contact Hazel by clicking here .

Hazel has given talks to WI groups, the U3A, several Jane Austen Society branches including the South West branch (of which she is the Membership Secretary), the Jane Austen Society of Australia in Sydney, Brisbane and Canberra, the Jane Auten Society in the Netherlands in Amsterdam, Chamber Opera Chicago and the Jane Austen Society of North America in Washington DC.

Details of talks and walks in 2017 are on the Calendar page.

A treat for any fan of Jane Austen . . . Hazel’s entertaining talk gave a new perspective on this popular author and a window into the social mores of her day.  We were able to ask questions of an expert and obvious enthusiast.  She had travelled from Devon for this presentation, and brought her own equipment and technical support.
We would like to highly recommend her as a speaker for a monthly or group meeting.
